LEVEL 3 MODULES AND THE PERSONAL TRAINER AWARD
NUTRITION & WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
This course provides the underpinning knowledge to enable students to suggest sensible eating strategies, give appropriate basic nutritional advice for a variety of needs but particularly relating to exercise & weight management, for their own & / or their clients benefit. The course covers basic nutrition and health, analysis of individual’s nutritional, lifestyle and exercise requirements via case studies, and calculations relevant to calorie assessment.
CLIENT LIFESTYLE & FITNESS ASSESSMENT
This course introduces and develops the skills required to conduct fitness & lifestyle assessments in the workplace or for the personal trainer in the field. It covers methods for encouraging behavioural change & modifications to exercise prescription.
BUSINESS & MARKETING SKILLS FOR THE FITNESS PROFESSIONAL
This course covers different aspects of business planning, marketing & analysis, applied specifically to the fitness industry.
SPORTS CONDITIONING
This course covers the underpinning knowledge & practical skills required for sports specific, as opposed to health related, training programmes.
QUALIFICATION GAINED
All of the above modules lead to a Central YMCA Qualifications Certificate (Level 3).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All modules require applicants to already have a level 2 Fitness Instructor certificate.

• Sports Conditioning or Training in Different Environments
